The Duluth Winter Village is an annual community event celebrating local businesses during the holiday season.
I served as a board member from the early planning stages to the big opening of this brand new event. Tasks included: Event name ideation, logo and identity design, promotional design.

Event Signage, layout design
Hockey Day Minnesota is a day in cooperation with the Minnesota Wild and Fox Sports North that features at least two Minnesota High School boys hockey games, a Minnesota Gopher men's hockey game, and a Minnesota Wild NHL game. Flint Group contributed its time and expertise to promoting Hockey Day including creative work on sponsors materials, event passes, onsite banners, programs, and dasher boards. This yoga event was a fundraising event for the upcoming Duluth Winter Village. A fun, healthy and friendly yoga fest, including live music and a silent auction at the Red Herring.

Identity & Illustration
Collection of logos created over the years. All are in use. I strongly believe that a good logo should be distinctive, practical, simple in form and, in most cases, be effective without color. Here are just a few examples of my logo designs. In collaboration with Flint Group, Matt Olin and Ethan Miller.
An 18-page booklet outlining the benefits of bringing businesses to Northeastern Minnesota. The piece was made for the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB) as a handout during the 2015 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, NV. Identity & Illustration
The mission of the Duluth Police Foundation is to create partnerships which funds and supports community safety initiatives, technology, and training for the Duluth Police Department and citizens of Duluth, to keep Duluth a safe and inviting city for all. In preparation for their launch event, Flint Group was tasked to develop the foundation's identity and various materials to create awareness. Furthermore, I was brought on as a freelancer to continue doing work for them after Flint Group's pro-bono contract expired. Done at Flint Group with Alan Josephson (art director).
I was approached by a friend to create the cover art for the Geological Society of the University of Minnesota's 2014 calendar. He wanted a set of icons that were commonly used in the field.
Identity & Web Design
The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth (HRA) came to Flint Group with an innovative solution to the city’s housing challenges. Their plan was to provide financial incentives for new home construction and owner-occupied rental improvements in core neighborhoods. HRA needed a name and unique identity for the program to communicate its goals and generate excitement. The creative team came back with the name Build Up Duluth, which embodied the literal and figurative work of the initiative. With bold geometric shapes and a contemporary color palette, the logo was designed to appeal to professionals who want to live or work near downtown. A website – buildupduluth.com – was created with program information and clear calls to action, along with custom stationary. Done at Flint Group with Alan Josephson (art director).
2014/2015 campaign material for University of Minnesota Duluth Athletics. Leveraging existing Bulldog pride, Flint Group created posters, program covers, pocket schedules and pocket schedule holders featuring UMD star athletes. (Copy written by Flint Group.) Given existing creative, I was to create iterations for the many different sports. This project really tested my ability to use Photoshop.

Create a new brand identity for a known product, service or brand.
The new Sriracha Hot Sauce promotes an exciting and appetizing eating experience by providing a versatile and delicious product to those who want some spice in their life. While honoring the existing brand equity, the redesign was centered upon making Sriracha feel zesty, fresh, American-made, and versatile. The many deliverables ranged from a new logo and visual system to an iPhone app designed to encourage use of Sriracha on different foods.

Identity & Packaging Design
Concept and design a new brand of beverage packaging. Create a new brand of bottled soda pop, flavored water, juice, or tea, wine, beer, etc. Create a new name, a new brand personality, new bottle labels and new carton graphics.
